L'isola è costituita da spiagge di fronte alla Ria Formosa e di fronte al mare. Ha un campeggio e capanne di noleggio, ed è anche possibile affittare case private. Ci sono anche diversi ristoranti, vicino al molo, alcuni con tradizione familiare, tramandati di generazione in generazione.
Gli appassionati di sport nautici trovano anche a Armona un buon posto per praticarli. Canoa, vela e immersioni sono solo alcuni esempi. Anche la pesca ricreativa è abbastanza popolare.
Oltre alla parte abitata dell'isola, c'è una sezione più selvaggia, dove è possibile trovare, ad esempio, camaleonti e altri esemplari della fauna locale.
L'isola di Armona è uno dei luoghi più tranquilli e caratteristici della stagione balneare.
