Il exploite actuellement le musée municipal de Faro (auparavant désigné musée archéologique municipal et Lapidar Infante D. Henrique).
Situé dans la vieille ville (Vila-Adentro), a été construit pour les religieuses Capuchas en 1519, par la reine D. Leonor (troisième épouse de D. Manuel I).
