Porto da Cruz is famous for its breathtaking views being one of the most attractive places to Penha da Águia, consisting of an imposing cliff that separates the Port of Cruz do Faial. Getting to the cliff is a real challenge but the spectacular views outweigh the hikers' effort.
Porto da Cruz is also famous for its wine. Known as American dry wine (dry red wine made from a grape known as American), this local product is the theme of a party that usually takes place in September (Wine Festival).
The beaches are much sought after by porsurfistas and bodyboarders for the practice of these modalities, since they are of the best beaches of the island for these sports.
For those who are not adept at black sand or even waves, you can always enjoy the sea water pool.
