The Cerro de São Miguel is 411 meters and is about 4 km northwest of Moncarapacho.
It is undoubtedly the place that provides one of the most beautiful panoramas of the Algarve, covering the south, the coast from Albufeira to Spain and, to the north, the cliffs of the Serra do Caldeirão.
This hill was always a conspicuous point very important for sailors, since Antiquity - the Greeks called it Holy Mountain or Mount Zephyr (god of the west wind, who took them home ...).
