The area of the village corresponding to the urban pars (owner's premises) extended along the whole elevation, descending to the West and being much part under the village. This area consists of rooms and corridors paved with mosaic, arranged around a tank, excavated in the rock, to capture rainwater. We also find areas for cooking and food storage, as well as examples of tanks and a complex network of sanitation and water circulation.
The Roman villa of Santa Vitória do Ameixial was built in the context of the Romanization of the Iberian Peninsula, being located in the province of Lusitania, whose capital was located in Mérida (Emerita Augusta).
