Very close to Troja Castle and the zoo, the botanical garden of Prague has recently been rebuilt. This garden enchants nature lovers regardless of season. Places of interest: the historic vineyards of Santa Clara, the Japanese garden and the tropical forest "Fata Morgana".
If you arrive from the river, (for example, after you have strolled through Stromovka Park or visited Troja Castle), you will arrive in the garden through the vineyards of Santa Clara (name of the chapel that is in the upper part of the hill), originally dependent on Troja Castle and re-planted in the 1950s. The ascent to the garden will be rewarded with a magnificent panoramic view and a small wine-cellar which has a Moravia wine list.
Among the attractions of the botanical garden, the Japanese garden is undoubtedly the most attractive, especially at certain times of the year: in early spring when Japanese cherries bloom, between April and May with the explosion of colors of flowers between June and June with lilies. The garden is also recognized for its collection of Japanese Maples. You can walk through the garden following a small path, which allows you to discover, step by step, a miniature landscape with a rich symbology with mountains and trees.
