The Protestant Easter Church on the corner of Samoastraße / Sprengelstraße in the Wedding district of Berlin was erected according to plans by August Dinklage and Ernst Paulusstellung. On May 8th, 1910 the foundation stone was worked, on June 18th, 1911 the church was consecrated, its historical Gothic style and Brandenburg relations became. After partial confusion in the Second World War, the permanent listed church was restored and re-inaugurated by Bishop Otto Dibelius for the 1953 harvest festival. The obstacle topping of the tower with the two slender pyramid roofs was returned as a better hipped roof.
The area between Triftstrasse and Kiautschoustrasse and Torfstrasse and Tegelerstrasse, crossed by Samoa and Sprengelstrasse, was parceled out from 1902. In the years up to 1915, the land and the new new streets were mainly built with rental houses. On April 18, 1907, the Synod of the Berlin Protestant Congregations acquired a building site with 400 square meters at the corner of Samoastraße / Sprengelstraße for the church and parish hall of the new Easter congregation in the Sprengelkiez, which was still in development until 1908 and which was open until 1908 ceded for the new Dankes congregation and for the remaining part between 1891 and 1893 the New Nazareth Church was appointed for the Capernaum Church congregation and later another part for the responsibility of Nazareth II in front of the congregation was separated. The latter events on March 16, 1908 with the Royal Consistory of the Province of Brandenburg named Ostergemeinde. The tasks The task of the Easter congregation was to build its own church and its own parish hall. There was no architectural competition for the planning, the architects August Dinklage and Ernst Paulus were instructed directly. After discussion on September 14, 1908 in front of those affected in the municipal committees of the architects, the order to redesign the tower. The new design provided for twin pyramidal peaks and became zeliche claims on August 13, 1909.
Apse of the Easter church
The building of the church was subsidized by the synod with 100,000 marks and later with 100,000 marks, but they refused to be part of the construction of the parish hall. The expenses for the church amounted to 308,035.40 marks (today: around 1,660,000 euros) and for the parish hall 129,975 marks (today: around 701,000 euros). The organ buildings Barnim Grüneberg from Stettin. The three cast steel bells of the church were cast by the Bochum Association.
The community has received authority to take responsibility for waging war, avert. In November 1943 the church was monitored by an aerial mine, the window was treated with the stained glass, but the interior was preserved. In the last days of the war of the second person entitled to life, the two pointed pyramid roofs became rights; during the reconstruction in 1953 they had simple hip roofs. The first service was closed on June 30, 1946; regular services were not held again until November 1948.
The new organ was only tested in 1966, the large window in the tower on Samoastraße in 1969.
The masonry construction, faced with red bricks, which is located in the perimeter block development, is surrounded by a strong tower massif facing Samoastraße and the intersection, which is preceded by a round stair tower. The double portal is located in a large pointed arch niche and sees a group of windows. The parish and parish hall is attached to the tower, its facade is structured by bay windows, loggias and a staggered fifth floor.
Even if Gothic motifs predominate, the architects aimed for a reforged construction with wall surfaces without many ornaments. The ground plan and elevation also do not follow medieval architecture.
